Local MP, Huw Merriman, has signed up to a local initiative to help people with autism to enjoy a better experience when visiting their shops and offices. The scheme, Autism Stress Alert, gives autistic people a card which they can display in shops and offices to highlight their condition and if they are finding the experience stressful and in need of help. Huw said 'Through the work I do with autistic people and organisations, I am aware that every day experiences can be incredibly stressful and, if not managed, can turn to isolation. I hope my neighbouring shops in Bexhill and across the Constituency, will consider signing up. The scheme is simple and requires only a little training and understanding. This should be good for autistic people and good for business.'
