This afternoon, Huw welcomed 31 of the BBC’s fast-track journalism apprentices to Westminster.
The apprentices had recently completed their Public Affairs module – part of the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism – that is at the heart of their apprenticeship. In addition to personally giving the group a tour of Parliament and taking a group into the gallery of the House of Commons, Huw held a Q&A session in Westminster Hall.
Speaking afterwards, Huw, who chairs the BBC APPG, said:
"It was a pleasure to welcome these enthusiastic young people to Parliament. I was fascinated to hear how their apprenticeships at the BBC are progressing and learn about their future career ambitions. It was also a great opportunity to discuss the work that I and my colleagues in Parliament do in the BBC APPG. Now more than ever is the time to preserve their futures with our nation’s public broadcaster."
