Huw joined the Bexhill Fairtrade Committee at Coffee In Style on Terminus Road to celebrate Bexhill’s recent renewal of its status as a Fairtrade Town.
Coffee in Style, located within Eras of Style on Terminus Road, is one of many local businesses in Bexhill who have committed to using and selling Fairtrade products. Coffee shop owners, Diane Le Lievre and Natalie Fulljames were happy to host the event and also receive their Fairtrade certificate from Jack Doherty, Chairman of the Bexhill Fairtrade Committee.
Speaking in Bexhill, Huw said “The Bexhill Fairtrade Committee work tirelessly to promote Fairtrade in the town so I was delighted to be asked to present them with their certificate from the Fairtrade Foundation. It is now eight years since Bexhill first achieved Fairtrade status which is a great achievement. It shows that local residents and businesses really care about the working conditions of people in developing countries. They know that choosing Fairtrade helps to secure a better and more sustainable future for the suppliers and their children.
I’m proud that local people choose to support family-run businesses like Coffee In Style because they supply and use Fairtrade products. It helps that the coffee and cakes are really delicious too!”
